The season of joy is finally here. Across Pondicherry, you can hear laughter, carols and feel the excitement of Christmas and the new year as the town glows with festive lights and colours. It’s a time that brings warmth to every corner and at Villa Shanti, this season has always held a special place in our hearts. 

At Villa Shanti, Christmas has never been about grand displays or elaborate decorations. It is about atmosphere, the feeling of comfort, the sense of being welcomed and the small moments that make this time of year meaningful. 

We know that many of our guests are far from their families and loved ones during the holidays and that can be difficult. This season naturally makes us think of home, familiar traditions and the people we care about. That’s why, in our own simple way, we try to make Villa Shanti feel warm and familiar during this time. A few thoughtful touches here and there, nothing extravagant, just the kind of atmosphere that makes you breathe a little easier and feel a little more at home. 

For those travelling with their families or partners this year, we’re glad to be part of your holiday memories. There is something special about experiencing Christmas in a new place, sharing moments at the table, taking slow walks through town or simply enjoying each other’s company without the usual rush of everyday life. 

We’ve also planned something small for Christmas night, not a grand event but a warm gesture to bring everyone together and let the festive spirit be felt in a simple and genuine way. 

But Christmas isn’t the only celebration at Villa Shanti. We also have something special planned for New Year’s Eve with a festive buffet and a rooftop candle light dinner, followed by a lively party at our sister property, The Spot. It’s a wonderful way to welcome the new year surrounded by good food, warm atmosphere and joyful company. 

As this festive season unfolds, we want to extend our heartfelt wishes to everyone staying with us now, everyone dining with us and all the guests who have spent time with us over the years.
